Procrastination is surely familiar to everyone, but why do we do it? And how could we maintain new routines that haven’t yet become habits? Both of these questions have to do with motivation — and maintaining motivation is hard.
In this GLE open session, we pen up the mechanism of motivation and learn some exercises for maintaining it. We discuss concepts like instant and delayed gratification, peer support, clearly defined core values, dreams and goals, intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, and time.
“Starting the routine was not that difficult because usually, at first, we are motivated to do the things we promised ourselves. But eventually, motivation starts fading, and it is hard to keep myself motivated for such a long time.” — GLE student 2021–2022.
Good Life Engine is an AVP course that helps you develop habits and routines for a more balanced life. The monthly workshops are open to all and free to attend.
