Topias Turppa joins the AVP team as our new Event Coordinator, taking charge of our event portfolio. His primary responsibilities will be organizing and growing our current events, and he’s already set his goals high.
Topias feels that Otaniemi is almost oversaturated with events and wants to find ways to make AVP events really stand out from the crowd. However, instead of competing against events in and by the student community, he thinks the better solution is collaborating with the community more and going quality over quantity.
In addition to creating extraordinary events, Topias came to AVP to learn. He’s keen on getting to know the entrepreneurship ecosystem and the startup world better and leaving his mark on it.
Topias studies finance at the School of Business, but he’s been known to spend as much time volunteering at student organizations as in the classroom. Before joining AVP, he gathered event-organizing experience in several KY associations and, most recently, as the Chair of the Executive Board of KY.
When he’s not organizing something — which he also likes to do in his free time — Topias enjoys traveling, seeing friends, and trying different sports. Even if he likes to stay active, he also plays a lot of games on his phone. If you see him walking on campus looking at his phone intensively, he’s most likely playing sudoku.
Working in a vibrant student community towards more sustainable entrepreneurship through events sounds kinda like my dream job. That’s why I am beyond excited about my position at AVP.
We are happy to have you, Topias! For more information about Topias, check out his LinkedIn. Feel free to get in touch with him!
