Study trips and summer programs 2018

January – BMoE (apply in December 2017 – January 2018) 

This one-week venture workshop takes place on January 8-12, 2018 at UC Berkeley’s Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship. It acts as an immersive learning experience for new venture creation: during the program, participants will take part in sessions that combine lectures and interactive game-based exercises, receive one-on-one mentoring from Sutardja Center faculty and industry experts; and learn in a collaborative environment.



June – Tsinghua summer school

Organised as part of cooperation in entrepreneurship activities between Aalto and Tsinghua universities. The course is small  with around 12 participants: 6 students from Tsinghua university and 6 students from Aalto.

August – Design your business (apply in July 2018)

Throughout the course, students work in teams focusing on how to build their design, tech savvy, or other expertise into a business idea. The course is multidisciplinary and open to all Aalto students. Students are encouraged to come prepared with preliminary business ideas that they would like to develop further, but this is not required.


July – ICSB Academy

International Council for Small Business (ICSB) provides you with a full immersion experience in the making of a new entrepreneurial ventures. The dynamic training program includes learning modules designed to take you through the fundamental concepts of identifying entrepreneurial opportunities and creating a new venture.

August – EIA Italy, Portugal (apply in January 2018 – February 2018)

During the summer of 2018, Aalto Schools and AVP will send six degree students to the European Innovation Academy (EIA) entrepreneurship program. The program covers everything you need to know to start your own company, ranging from team formation to value proposition testing to financial strategy.

September – Urban Challenge (apply April 2018 – May 2018)

AVP Urban Challenge is a 7-days-long study trip in the beginning of September taking place in New York City. It is targeted to those who are interested in entrepreneurship – Master’s students from all six schools of Aalto and Bachelor’s students who have studied at least 2 years in Aalto

September – Nexus Maximus (apply June 2018 – July 2018)

During this event, multidisciplinary student teams are tasked with tackling a challenging global problem. Last year, the focus was on innovation for refugees and displaced populations.

November – Aalto Fellows trip (apply to Aalto Fellows in December 2017 – January 2018)

The Aalto Fellows represents comprehensive entrepreneurship education regarding the key principles of leadership, selling, creativity and hard facts about finance and legal aspects. The program combines intensive workshops and lectures, a paid summer internship at a start-up company, venture capital or corporate venturing and ongoing mentoring and networking activities.
