Aalto Ventures Program (AVP) students are invited to Nexus Maximus ll project, which is Philadelphia University’s signature annual event that brings together broad disciplines to work in teams on big problems and opportunities. Students will be broken into teams blending from first year to graduate level, with diverse disciplines on each team. Preceding the trip, the participants will be given the basic tools for understanding service development and entrepreneurial thinking, and the lectures will be held by faculty and entrepreneurs from both PhilaU and AVP.

The trip will take place between the 9th and 15th of September, and participants pay only flight fare and incidentals for the whole trip! Accommodation and food during the workshop will be covered by organisers.

This face-paced “sprint” project will bring you capability of working in international and interdisciplinary teams on real world problem, entrepreneurial mind-set while having lots of fun! Students will also be participating in fund-raising process using AVP brand value. AVP will help students find right companies and achieve successful result regarding financial support.

Program – “Nexus Maximus ll” – Health and Innovation

The first Nexus Maximus event, held last September, engaged over 170 students including 17 AVP students working together in teams of 4-6 to learn innovation processes and develop new concepts to address a global problem – Aging in Place.

This year the students will address the challenge “Health for life – Birth to College.” They will evaluate and seek innovation impacting child and adolescent health with concepts that can encompass the built environment such as food and nutrition, physical fitness, law and policy, recreation products and services, and more. The team project work will be supplemented with workshops on innovation, entrepreneurship, and content relevant to the theme, delivered by experts.

Teams consisting of both Aalto and Philadelphia University students will tackle real-life problems through several workshops and lectures. The learning objective is to introduce participants to high growth entrepreneurship and inspire them to think big.

Aalto students will get 2 credits(TU-E4020) and a certificate from PhilaU.

How to Apply?

We are looking for 25-35 highly-motivated students with ambition to grow and learn about innovation and customer service. PhD students are also welcome!

The application process is divided into two parts: general information form, and a motivation letter:

Application period starts on 30th of April and will be closed on 20th of May 2015 at midnight.
