Paul Savage has just started as a teacher at AVP, and he’s keen to learn new things himself. At first, his primary role will be teaching Startup Experience together with long-time AVP teacher Johannes, so he’ll definitely be able to pick up a trick or two despite his already extensive experience coaching and training companies.
Besides teaching our existing courses, Paul has already set his ambitions high for other things. As he’s personally interested in fintech, he’s thinking of creating a whole new course around the topic. He’s also hoping to put his communications skills to use in reaching researchers and doctoral students better and to help them integrate further into the community.
Paul has the tools and the drive, and he’s not new to the Aalto ecosystem either. He’s done his Ph.D. in Aalto, writing about entrepreneurial and organizational narratives, and also worked at Design Factory before hopping over to AVP. His pre-Aalto experience comes from supply chain management, coaching, and professional acting — and you might have heard his voice on Yle’s English-language radio programs as well.
Outside of work, Paul has a wide variety of interests. During the winter, he enjoys tailoring, — so making his own clothes — and playing videogames such as World of Warcraft and Battlefield. In the summer, he takes out his motorcycle and tours around Finland and Europe
My favorite quote at the moment is, ‘I could be wrong.’ We are preparing for an unknown future, and we need to be able to question our own positions and change our minds.
We are happy to have you, Paul! For more information about Paul, check out his LinkedIn. Feel free to get in touch with him!
