Imagine a brisk autumn evening in Paris, sitting on a terrace enjoying an espresso and the golden foliage in the trees along the boulevard. Now stop imagining, and apply for our study trip to turn the dream into reality!
AVP is sending a group of students to Paris, France, on 25.–30. September 2023. During the week, you’ll take part in a three-day art thinking workshop by Art Thinking Collective. In addition to the workshop, you’ll get to know Paris’ startup ecosystem, learn about sustainable city planning, meet local entrepreneurs, and, of course, enjoy the atmosphere of Paris at perhaps the most beautiful time of the year.
Throughout the trip, you’ll ponder topics around entrepreneurship, art thinking, and sustainable city planning. The trip is expected to provide you with:
- An understanding of the system of sustainable city planning and the values of physical space
- An understanding of entrepreneurship from an art thinking perspective
- Skills needed to involve and collaborate with multiple stakeholders
- A glance at Paris’ entrepreneurship ecosystem
The Art Thinking Workshop is a three-day seminar with improbable mixes of conferences, workshops and feedback sessions. Art Thinking is an agile method that focuses on adopting creative mindsets and practices, where one incorporates their passion into their work. The workshop touches on skills including entrepreneurship leadership, analytical thinking and innovation, emotional intelligence, and problem-solving.
Sounds good, right? To make it even better, we want to make sure there are as few obstacles to joining as possible. That’s why we’ll cover the costs of flights, airport transportation, basic travel insurance, and accommodation fees. However, you will have to pay for any personal insurance, your own meals, and other such expenses. We’re not made of money, after all.
This trip is a part of our new Aurora Network, where we send Aalto students to entrepreneurial hubs all over the world to gather international experience and then bring them together to share those experiences with each other. Our previous trips have taken place in Zambia and the US, and we already have a strong alumni community that’s looking forward to welcoming you as a part of it.
Eligibility for Aurora Paris
As much as we’d like to have all of you on the plane to France, the seats are limited. If you fit the following criteria, we’re looking forward to seeing your application:
- You are a full-time degree student at Aalto University (exchange or minor students are not eligible)
- You have taken AVP courses or have AVP courses in your planned studies
