Tiina Zilliacus and Lidia Rauramo asked students at the beginning of their Good Life Engine course session what they would like to learn about entrepreneurship. The discussion in class can be boiled down to the following 11 lessons about entrepreneurship and life.
Four students — Anh Nguyen, Camila Gallo, Júlia Vila and Henri Wittmann — represented Aalto Ventures Program at the Berkeley Method of Entrepreneurship (BMoE) bootcamp at the University of California, Berkeley in January 2023. The bootcamp was filled with joy, new friendships and valuable insights regarding entrepreneurship.
Throughout the years Lidia has taught Good Life Engine, the main challenge has always been the “wanna-be-efficient brain” that doesn’t leave the students at peace with how they spend their time. Many of us feel time pressure from squeezing too many things into our life. At Good Life Engine, we hope you will learn how to enjoy life rather than execute it.
At the core of the Good Life Engine course is the execution of well-being or self-development routines that students choose for themselves. We define routine as a sequence of actions regularly followed. Although our students decide upon their routines based on their individual goals, there are some common starting points in the process of choosing a good routine.
Rahul Abhisek has always been entrepreneurial, but at Aalto University, he learned how to start a business. Rahul came to Aalto from India to study design and new media eleven years ago. The time here has drastically changed him — and his plans for the future.
The fear of not being accepted: we think it's a fear everyone faces when going to new places. LGBTQ+ people, however, need to face it every day. In every interaction, they must decide: do I feel comfortable showing who I really am? At GAYY, we would like to add a queer touch to Otaniemi and let the minorities also enjoy the community that we have.
